Food Bank of Central New York operates a number of food assistance programs. Some of our programs have income restrictions and others are open to everyone. For more information about our programs, click on the links to the left.

The 24-hour human services information and referral hotline in central New York provides:
  • Assistance with fulfilling basic needs such as shelter, food and clothing
  • Help with navigating the Department of Social Services
  • Aid in locating appropriate community services for mental health, employment and financial assistance, legal issues, health and medical services and other human services

SNAP (formerly Food Stamps)

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) issues monthly electronic benefits that can be used like cash to purchase food at authorized retail food stores. Eligibility and benefit levels are based on household size, income and other factors.
