Bully Hill announces initiative to aid Food Bank
July 18, 2012 at 10:08 AM
Bully Hill Vineyards, in partnership with their distributor Southern Wine and Spirits of Upstate New York, will be donating one dollar to regional New York State Food Banks for every case of Bully Hill wines sold from July 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012. Donations will be made to each Regional Food Bank based on the number of cases of Bully Hill Wine sold in that region. Bully Hill Vineyards has closely partnered with all five regional Food Banks of Upstate New York to ensure a successful conclusion to this fundraising initiative.
Food Bank of Central New York, which serves an eleven county region in central and northern New York, will be the local beneficiary of the fundraising initiative. Food Bank of Central New York distributed over 12 million pounds of nutritious food to families and individuals in need in the past year.
The number of families facing hunger in Upstate New York has become an incredibly alarming issue. Between July 2010 and June 2011 the five upstate New York food banks provided 64.1 million meals to those in need. With the support of the community, Food Banks can continue to ensure that no one goes without a meal. As an industry leader, Bully Hill Vineyards has made the commitment to join in the fight against hunger.
With the funds raised, the Food Bank of Central New York will be able to get fresh and healthy foods into the hands of New York families who need it most. Join us and together we can make a difference and give back to the region we call home, one bottle of Bully Hill Wine at a time.
