The truckload of food, including butternut squash, winter squash, potatoes and cabbage, totaled nearly 28,000 lbs. Fruits and vegetables like those given by Wagner Farms are especially welcome as the Food Bank seeks to provide a steady supply of nutritious food to families and individuals in need. “Fresh produce is often difficult for food insecure households to acquire. This generous donation from Wagner Farms will put healthy food into the homes of people in our community who need it the most,” said Tom Slater, Executive Director of Food Bank of Central New York.
“At Wagner Farms, we believe in offering the highest quality produce and products at reasonable prices. At the end of each year, we donate leftover products to food drives around the area. This year we have teamed up with the Food Bank of Central New York for our largest donation ever due to the fact that they have the ability to receive and distribute this size contribution,” said Ron Wagner of Wagner Farms, Rome, NY.
