SYRACUSE, NY – Dunkin’ Donuts is inviting residents of central New York to get ready for summer with the return of “Iced Coffee Day.” On Wednesday, May 23, $1 from every cup of iced coffee sold at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in central New York will directly benefit Food Bank of Central New York.
“Dunkin’ Donuts is thrilled to celebrate the return of Iced Coffee Day to Central New York,” said Eric Stensland, Integrated Marketing Manager at Dunkin’ Donuts. “We are excited to continue our support of Food Bank of Central New York during our upcoming Iced Coffee Day on May 23. I encourage Mohawk Valley residents to cool down with a Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee while also supporting this great organization.”
Food Bank of Central New York serves as the primary food supplier to the emergency food network, comprised of 364 partner agencies, within an eleven county service area across central and northern New York. The Food Bank will provide more than 15 million pounds of nutritious food this year – the equivalent of 12.5 million meals – to hungry families, children, and seniors.
“We truly appreciate our ongoing partnership with Dunkin Donuts,” stated Kathleen Stress, Executive Director at Food Bank of Central New York. “Through Iced Coffee Day, the Food Bank is able to provide additional food supplies to the communities we serve. Last year Iced Coffee Day raised over $30,000 to provide more than 90,000 meals. Grab an iced coffee, or two, and know that you are helping feed the hungry while you enjoy your delicious beverage!”
Dunkin' Donuts has been at the forefront in developing an innovative process for brewing iced coffee, which has set the standard for the industry. The unique process, called double brewing, uses twice the amount of coffee when making the beverage to achieve consistent flavor and freshness that are never compromised at the expense of serving it cold. The result is a smooth, rich taste -- iced coffee that is never bitter or watered down.
