Tops Friendly Markets to Check Out Hunger

Thursday, January 26, 2017

Tops Friendly Markets will again host their annual Check Out Hunger campaign to raise funds for Food Bank of Central New York from Sunday, January 29 through Saturday, February 18. Thirty four Tops Friendly Markets will accept donations of $2, $3, and $5 at checkout lines throughout the Food Bank’s service area in central and northern New York. The annual tear and scan campaign provides shoppers with a fast and easy way to make a difference in the fight against hunger.

“Every dollar donated becomes three meals back into our communities, helping families provide the wholesome food they need,” said Kathleen Stress, Executive Director at Food Bank of Central New York. “Tops has been a tremendous partner to support our mission of helping to feed the hungry by continually participating in the Check Out Hunger Campaign!”

“Eradicating hunger in the central and northern New York community is a core mission of our company, and through the support of our customers and associates, we are happy to support Food Bank of Central New York,” said Andrew Brocato, director of community and public relations for Tops Friendly Markets. “We look forward to continuing our participation in the Check Out Hunger program and we are humbled to assist thousands of people in the Central New York area."
